Jewellery Care Guide
Our pieces are fashion jewellery, crafted with plated metals, stones, kundan, pearls and enamel. With a little care, they'll stay beautiful for many celebrations to come.
Last on, first off
- Put your jewellery on after perfume, hairspray, lotion and makeup have dried.
- Take it off before showering, swimming, exercising, cleaning or sleeping.
Keep it dry
Water, sweat and humidity can dull plating and loosen stones. If your jewellery gets wet, gently pat it dry with a soft cloth right away.
Cleaning
- Wipe each piece gently with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth after wearing.
- Don't use jewellery cleaners, chemical polishing cloths, ultrasonic cleaners or abrasive materials.
- For kundan, pearls and enamel work, avoid rubbing over the stones. A light dusting is all they need.
Storage
- Store each piece separately in its pouch or box, or in a zip-lock bag, to prevent scratching and tangling and to limit air exposure.
- Keep jewellery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Lay necklace sets flat so the strings and settings keep their shape.
- A small silica gel packet in your jewellery box helps absorb moisture.
Handle with care
- Hold earrings and necklaces by their base or clasp, not by hanging stones or ghungroos.
- Don't bend bangles or rings to resize them unless they're designed to be adjustable.
- Check hooks, clasps and screw-backs before wearing.
Pieces that love a little extra care
Pearls and kundan prefer a light dusting, enamel should be kept away from perfume, and oxidised pieces should be wiped dry after every wear.
Care by material
- Oxidised: Wipe dry with a soft cloth after every wear. Do not polish oxidised pieces aggressively, and do not use chemical polishing cloths, because polishing removes the darkened finish that gives oxidised jewellery its look.
- Gold-plated: Keep dry and away from perfume, lotions and water. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wearing, and store in its pouch or box so the plating does not rub off.
- Kundan: Dust lightly only. Avoid rubbing over the stones, and keep away from water and perfume.
- Pearls and beaded pieces: Wipe pearls with a soft cloth after wear. Keep beaded pieces dry, dust them gently, and store them separately so beads and threads do not snag or tangle.
- Fabric pieces: Keep fabric pieces dry and dust them gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not wash them or get them wet.
